Ninen-zaka

Ninen-zaka

There are several views about the source of the name.
For example,it was named Ninennzaka as a meaning called the hill-before-Sannenzaka.
There is a legend of "dying within two years if you fall over here."
This is considered that the epigram "take care about stone steps and a slope" was handed down from generation to generation.
A souvenir shop, a pottery store, a restaurant, etc. are located in a line with a place along the route.
Since this slope has connected Yasaka Jinja, Maruyama Park, Kodai-ji, Hokan-ji,
and southern Kiyomizu-dera, many tourists visit continuously.

Ishibe-kouji

ishibekoji

Stone wall alleys are the Kodai-ji way and a way to which the Shimokawa field passage is connected.
Just as it goes into an alley, the stone wall of the basic portion of Machiya on a par
with both sides looks just like a stone wall.
Locally, it is called "Ishibe-koji.
The bend condition of a way and the feeling of the wooden wall show exquisite harmony.
